Overview

The Hong Kong Federation of Extreme Sports (HKXFED) is the leading and most authoritative consultant for extreme sports facilities and skateparks in Hong Kong. With over 25 years of experience anchoring the development of local extreme sports, our consultancy team comprises international head judges, master trainers, and seasoned industry pioneers. Deeply understanding the nuances of flow, surface precision, and safety requirements from a rider’s perspective, HKXFED serves as the trusted bridge between government departments, architects, and main contractors.

25-Year Track Record At A Glance:

  • 25+ Years of strategic layout and planning experience in Hong Kong
  • 12 Skatepark Projects successfully delivered and consulted locally
  • 3 Internationally Certified Facilities (World Skate / SLS)

By fusing international competitive metrics with local community needs, we provide comprehensive, one-stop technical consultancy:

  • Design Review & Concept Assessment: Early-stage involvement to evaluate blueprints, obstacle placements, and flow to ensure the facility meets the organic needs of actual riders.
  • Certification Guidance: Navigating project teams through the rigid facility standards of World Skate and Street League Skateboarding (SLS), providing expert guidance on tiering and star ratings.
  • Safety, Lighting & Site Assessment: Hands-on structural and dynamic testing of surface textures, drainage, rail buffer zones, and night-time lighting uniformity/glare compliance, followed by formal assessment reports.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Bridging the gap between government bodies—such as LCSD, CEDD, and ArchSD—and main contractors to foster seamless “co-use” (Skateboard, BMX, Inline Skating, and Scooter) environments.

Key Focus: Pioneering the Era of International Certification

We successfully bridge major local infrastructures with formal international competitive metrics:

  • On Lok Mun Street Skatepark, Fanling (New – 2025): Advocated for a specialized, certifiable concrete street-and-park layout instead of generic configurations. Managed design reviews and certification liaison between World Skate and California Skateparks. Hong Kong’s very first World Skate-certified facility.
  • Kwok Shui Road Skateboard Ground Upgrade (2025): Served as consultant to the main contractor for comprehensive design review, compliance assessment, and stakeholder coordination, alongside executing formal night-time lighting assessments. Successfully attained the official World Skate 1-Star (C-Class Street) certification.
